I've been MySpace friends with Jenn Bostic for a while. As it goes, she gave away a few songs on her site, and Satan's Deal has come up in the playlist enough to have her stick in my psyche. So when I saw she released a CD in iTunes, I had to atleast get a song or two. Great country music, with slick heavy production, but I was intrigued by her song "Gay or Taken"... I had to get it, and I've enjoyed it completely... let me claim the later.... and here is a stripped down version.... on this one, I highly recommend the rockin country studio version... but it gets the idea across.

Here is how she describes herself at her MySpace site: Bred On Folk, Blues And Show Tunes In The Small Town Of Waconia, Minnesota, Jenn Bostic Was Born With Music In Her Veins. The Youngest Of Two, Many Evenings Were Spent With Hobby Musician Father And Older Brother Around A Guitar Or Piano Singing After Mom’s Home Cooked Meals. Singing And Dancing At Age Three And Tickling The Ivories At Six, Jenn Had An Innate Passion For Performing.

Age Ten Was Dark For Bostic As She Faced The Loss Of Her Father In A Tragic Car Accident. Songwriting Began As A Form Of Therapy, As The Only Real Connection That Remained Was The Music He Had Placed In Her Heart.

Minneapolis Folk/Country/Blues Band Traveled Ground Has Featured Bostic On Both Of Their Albums Marking Her Recording Debut. Her Love For Folk, Country, Roots And Blues Pushed Her To Study At Berklee College Of Music From 2004-2008. Jenn’s High Energy Performing Abilities Continued To Strengthen As She Performed In The Most Elite Shows Berklee Has To Offer. February Of 2006 Bostic Hit The New England Club Circuit As The Lead Singer Of Country Cover Band DiggerDawg. This Led To A Variety Of High Profile Openers Including Alan Jackson, Tracy Byrd, Julie Roberts, Josh Turner, Jo Dee Messina, Montgomery Gentry, Kelli Pickler, Sugarland, Trace Adkins, Gary Allan, Reba McEntire And Gretchen Wilson.

Most Recent Events Involved An Armed Forces Tour To Iraq And Kuwait As An Opportunity To Entertain The United States Troops. Jenn’s Huge Heart, Love For People And Positive Energy Made Her The Perfect Candidate For Such A Tour. She Brought Smiles To The Faces Of Our Soldiers And Had Them Dancing To Her Original Music As Well As Their Favorite Covers.

Bostic Currently Resides In Nashville, Tennessee, Where She Is Recording Her Debut Album. Keep Your Eyes And Ears Open For A Release This Summer!!! .... Hey I saw she's from Wisconsin and has had a few gigs nearby ... maybe I'll run into this talent someday.
